Lifestyle Interventions (LS) are not only effective in promoting health, controlling non-communicable chronic diseases and, often, reversing several of them, growing evidence has shown that they also contribute to the favorable prognosis of mental illnesses and the reduction of morbidity and mortality in this population (1,2), and can be used in combination with other evidence-based therapies (3). With the aim of providing a healthier and more sustainable VS to people with psychiatric conditions, the Habit and Lifestyle Change Program (PROMEV) outpatient clinic was created at the Institute of Psychiatry (IPq) of the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade of Medicine at the University of São Paulo. This is a pioneering service in Brazil.
